🏒 Clarington Eagles vs. Port Perry LumberJacks
The Clarington Eagles and Port Perry Lumberjacks did battle at Scugog Arena. The Eagles were looking to build on the last time these two teams played each other in Clarington, where they got the victory.
1st Period
The Eagles came out with the first goal of the game, scored by Gianluca Meli. Although they outshot the Lumberjacks in the period 14-10, two goals by the Lumberjacks—first by Zachary Caron, then by Kyle Den Ouden—gave Port the lead, 2-1, after the first.
2nd Period
Three minutes into the period, Jacob Sharpe would increase the Lumberjacks’ lead. Then, back-to-back goals by Johannes Kalm in four minutes and twenty-five seconds made it 5-1. That would be the end of the afternoon for Eagles Goalie Nate Gillis, who allowed five goals on 17 shots.
3rd Period
At 5-1 now, things got heated with a series of fighting penalties. The Lumberjacks would strike again on new goaltender Jairus Ford; Andrew Naccarato Soule was the goal scorer. Carson McKenzie got the Eagles one goal closer, but they fell 6-2 at the hands of the Lumberjacks.
Looking Ahead
Now the Eagles look ahead to a busy week which features a home game with the Little Britain Merchants on November 6 at 7:25 PM at the Garnet B. Rickard (Toyota pad). Then they travel to Little Britain Saturday night, and a Sunday afternoon game against the Caledon GoldenHawks in Caledon.
