He moved on to be an assistant coach with the Whitby Fury (OJHL). In the summer of 2019, Dean joined the Eagles staff as Head Coach. In his first season behind the bench, he led the team to a first-place regular season finish. Dave is a great communicator and enjoys teaching the technical and tactical aspects of the game.
JAMIE SHOWERS - Assistant Coach
He’s been a friend, he’s been a foe, and now he’s an Eagle. Jamie played against the Eagles (specifically, against Eagles head coach Dean Baumhauer, assistant coaches Dave Fairey and Neil Taylor, skill development coach Kelly Armstrong, and director of operations/governor Nick Dennis) as a member of the Uxbridge Bruins in the late 1980s. Jamie played defense and was a thorn in the side of any player who thought they could get anywhere near the blue paint by the net. Jamie is a father of four and has been involved in their sports since they began playing. Jamie has coached hockey for over twenty-five years, including two seasons as an assistant coach with the Little Britain Merchants, followed by two seasons as an assistant coach with the Uxbridge Bruins before joining the Eagles. His main goal is to help develop the players into better hockey players, but also better human beings, and help the Eagles achieve their goal of winning the Schmalz Cup.
NEIL TAYLOR - Assistant Coach
A native of Bowmanville, Neil grew up playing minor hockey in the Clarington Toros system and played three seasons for the Eagles back in the late 80's. Neil spent three seasons working as an assistant coach and manager with the Clarington Zone AAA organization before joining Dean as an assistant coach with the U18 AAA Whitby Wildcats team in the 2017/18 season, winning a silver medal at the OMHA Championships.
KELLY ARMSTRONG - Skill Development Coach
Kelly has the distinction of being one of only a handful of players to have played six seasons with the Eagles. Captain of the Eagles for three of his six seasons, Kelly was the ultimate teammate, having the backs of his teammates on a nightly basis. One of the best defensemen of his era, Kelly enjoyed the rough stuff as he was known to be both physically and mentally tough on the ice and was a hard hitter. Joining the staff prior to the start of the 2022/23 season, Kelly wanted to volunteer his time to give back to the new Eagle era and help hone the player’s skills mentally and provide situational guidance. Not wasting any time, Kelly has taken a lot of the younger players under his wing this season, helping them hone their craft and make the adjustment from minor hockey to junior hockey.

Dan began goalie coaching during the 1982/83 season> He has goalie coached during thirty-six different hockey seasons, spending the bulk of his time working with teams in the Clarington Minor Hockey Association and the Clarington Zone Hockey Association. Over the year, Dan has coached and helped develop many of Clarington’s big-name star goalies, including Clarington Hall of Famer Sarah Couch, ECHL star Evan Cormier, his brother, Aaron Cormier, Logan Walters, Sean Gray, and former Eagles star goalie, Alex Lepizzera.
