🦅 Eagles VS Caledon Game Recap 🏒

The Eagles General Manager (GM) was hard at work heading into Thursday’s matchup, making several key trades.

The GM traded away returning Goaltender Braeden Derks to Lakefield for Seth Clarke. They also pulled off a two-player trade with Port Hope, sending Caeden Allenby and Cameron McGrogan to the Panthers for Spencer Eriksson and Connor Ivey. Furthermore, Carson McKenzie was sent to Georgina for a Player Development Fee (PDF), and Sutton Edwards was acquired from Aurora, also for a PDF. With the transactions complete, it was time to play hockey.

Prior to Puck Drop Gianluca Meli was Named the Hooper’s Player of the Month for November.

1st Period

The Eagles came out with the first big scoring opportunities but couldn’t beat Max Zemp until the 9:59 mark when Brayden Hicks scored on a power play. This lead was short-lived, however, as less than two minutes later, Caledon’s Arunas Scott tied the game. Just 13 seconds later, Ethan Baker put the Eagles back on top, but before the period ended, Caledon tied it again on a shot that beat Jairus Ford. The period ended 2-2.

2nd Period

The score remained 2-2 until the 13-minute mark of the second period when the Eagles’ Gianluca Meli scored. The Eagles then rounded out the period with two more goals, one by Nolan Winter and another by Ben Stycuk, giving them a commanding lead.

3rd Period

The Eagles did not look back, scoring three more goals in the final period. The goals came from Aiden Miller, Spencer Eriksson (making an immediate contribution with his first goal as an Eagle), and Ethan Girard, who rounded out the scoring.

The Eagles had an incredible 79 shots in the game, skating to an impressive 8-2 victory. This was the first of a back-to-back weekend, as they would next travel to Uxbridge to take on the #1 Uxbridge Bruins.
