Eagles fall for second straight game

🏒 Clarington Eagles vs. Uxbridge Bruins Game Recap

The Clarington Eagles versus Uxbridge Bruins was the main show at the Rickard Arena Thursday night after a great opening ceremony, it was time to play hockey.

First Period

The Eagles had to go into this game without any of their rostered goaltenders. With Jairus Ford away and Nate Gillis still serving a six-game suspension, the Eagles relied on two call-ups. Logan Cucan started this one, and Uxbridge got to him and the Eagles early. Only 42 seconds into the game, Jack Kemp scored the first goal. Then, Luke Kemp helped spread the lead for the visitors. After Darin Bain scored twice, the Eagles were in a huge hole early, trailing 4-0 only eight minutes into the game.

The Eagles got one of those goals back when Caleb Bidgood deposited a rebound in front of the net to make it a 4-1 game heading into the second period.

Second Period

Like the first period, the Bruins scored a minute into the second. This time it was Colin Tingay getting on the board, helping Uxbridge extend their lead to four yet again. Add another goal by Cameron Meek, and it was 6-1 after two periods.

Third Period

The third period had the same result for the Eagles, as the dominant Bruins added four more goals. Blake Peters-Davey would score a single goal for the Eagles in the third. It was a 10-2 defeat for the Eagles—one they would like to forget.

Looking Ahead

The Eagles’ next action will be at home when they play the Caledon Golden Hawks on Thursday, December 4th, with a 7:25 PM puck drop.

There are six games left to go in the year 2025.
