Clarington Eagles vs. Schomberg Cougars

The Eagles, off to a 2-0 start after 2 thrilling victories, would host the winless 0-2 Schomberg Cougars, hoping for win #1 on the season.

1st Period

Schomberg jumps out first as Michael Ciaravella deflects a point shot past Jairus Ford to make it 1-0. The Eagles would get that goal back in the first period to tie the game, and with 2 mins left in the first, the Eagles would take the lead to the dressing room thanks to a go-ahead marker by Christian Sokuljuk.

2nd Period

At 5:09 of the 2nd period, the Eagles add to the lead thanks to forward Owen Thake with a nice shot, beating goaltender Julian Arcella.

3rd Period

The Eagles put this game out of reach. First, it was a breakaway goal by Caleb Bidgood on a power play. And then Christian Sokuljuk, who played a monster of a game, got his 2nd of the evening, and the final goal of the night went to Charlie Key.

The Eagles defeat Schomberg 6-1 with 51 shots on net and win their 3rd straight contest to start the year. They will now play the Scarborough Knights, formerly the Caledon Golden Hawks, on Sunday before returning home for a matchup with the Little Britain Merchants Thursday, Sept. 24, with a 7:25 puck drop.

Big game for Christian Sokuljuk, tallying 4 points: 2 goals and 2 assists.
