The Clarington Eagles have the North Kawartha Knights on the ropes in their first-round series of the PJHL playoffs.

The Eagles defeated the Knights on back-to-back nights this weekend to take a commanding 3-0 series lead.

Saturday’s contest in North Kawartha ended in a 6-1 decision.

Sunday’s score at Rickard Arena was even more lopsided, with the Eagles skating to a 10-0 victory. Nolan Matheson led the scoring with a hat trick.

Clarington outshot the Knights 128-19 over the two games.

The Eagles will be looking to complete the series sweep on Tuesday evening when they return to Apsley for game four.

The Lakefield Chiefs are waiting in the wings for Clarington after sweeping the Port Perry Lumberjacks in their first-round series.
