Clarington Eagles Complete Road Trip with Dominant Victory

To end a stretch of 3 games in 4 days, the Clarington Eagles travelled to Caledon to take on the Golden Hawks. Since joining the Orr division last season, Caledon had never beaten the Eagles, a streak that includes both regular season and playoffs.

First Period

Brayden Hicks returned to the Eagles lineup and picked up the only goal in a dominant period by the Eagles, who outshot their opponents 19-5.

Second Period

Less than five minutes into the period, Caledon tied things up on a goal by Michael Mignosa. But the Eagles would quickly regroup and reclaim their lead at the 11:18 mark thanks to Marcus Mori. Forward Brock Mathieson also added a goal to the scoresheet, giving the Eagles a 3-1 lead heading into the third period.

Third Period

The Eagles felt a 3-1 lead was a little tight and pulled away in the final period. At 0:28, Ethan Girard made it 4-1. Just 25 seconds later, Stycuk added another goal, making it 5-1. Drax Moran got in on the goal-scoring at 9:42, and the Eagles finished off the afternoon with two more goals from Caleb Bidgood and Brayden Hicks to make it 8 goals on 58 shots and an 8-1 victory for the Eagles. Jairus Ford made 17 saves between the pipes in the win. These two teams will see each other again Thursday night, Nov. 13th, from the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex (Toyota Pad) with a 7:25 p.m. puck drop.
