The PJHL off-season is well underway, and the Clarington Eagles have been busy preparing for the upcoming season.
First, the Eagles would like to congratulate both Alex Lepizzera and Mitch Doyle for signing pro contracts with the IFK Falkoping Blue Riders. Both overagers played a huge part in the Eagles’ playoff run this past season and both will be missed. Best of luck to both players as they start their new careers overseas.
The Clarington Eagles would like to announce the return of several players from last year’s Eastern Conference Championship team. Dawson Manning, Connor Davies, Carter Watkins, Nathaniel Stirling, Leyton Aitken, Jordan Shaw, and Owen Manarin have all committed to the Eagles for the 2022-23 campaign (more to come throughout August).
We have also traded Jake Lemere to the Port Perry LumberJacks and Brady Darrach to the Lindsay Muskies. We would like to thank both players for their contributions to the organization and wish them both good luck in their futures.
On July 19th the Eagles announced a trade with the Haliburton Huskies; the Eagles acquired forward Kolby Poulin and defenceman Ryan Hall. Both players bring with them Jr A. experience and will be a big part of this year’s team.
The Eagles also announced the acquisition of Riley Mcbride from the Port Hope Panthers and Adam Klaas from the Campbellford Rebels for player development fees.
On July 8th and 9th, the Eagles held a summer prospect camp. Photos can be found on our Facebook page. We found several talented prospects at camp and can’t wait to see them take to the ice this fall.
Finally, the Clarington Eagles held a board of directors meeting to prepare for the coming season. The results of the meeting will continue to be announced throughout August; examples of information to be released soon include available volunteer positions, sponsorship information, season ticket prices, regular season schedule, exhibition schedule, and much more.
