Food Drive Rescheduled

By Chris Archer

Our Food Drive in support of the Little Britain Food Bank has been rescheduled for Thursday February 24th.

On Thursday, February 10th volunteers at the Little Britain Food Bank arrived at the facility to discover there had been a major robbery.

Cases of pasta, tuna, soup, other canned goods as well as other products such as soap and shampoo were all stolen.

The Little Britain Merchants are collecting food on behalf of the food bank. The Merchants and their community are part of our hockey family and our thoughts are with them.

At this Thursday’s home game (February 24th) the Eagles will be collecting non-perishable food items as well as soap and shampoo and other essentials on behalf of the Little Britain Food Bank. Some of our volunteers will then deliver them to the Little Britain Food Bank.

The Eagles would like to thank the Merchants for their recent generosity when they provided a monetary donation to Dean Baumhauer (Clarington’s head coach) and his family towards Rebecca Baumhauer’s (Dean’s wife) cancer battle.

Please bring items for donation to Thursday’s home game versus the Lakefield Chiefs. Game time at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex is 7:20 p.m.
