The Clarington Eagles' red-hot season has resulted in an abundance of awards. We recently celebrated the Hoopers' Eagles Player of the Month and Orr Division Player of the Month award winners, but our players have been recognized beyond this. Each season, the PJHL Orr Division hands out nine awards after the regular season to players and teams for reaching specific achievements.  The Eagles are pleased to announce that, of those nine awards, the Eagles took home five for the 2022/23 season.

Chris Clarke, Eastern Conference Manager, joined us before the previous home game on Sunday, March 26 to present the awards.

First Overall in the Orr Division Regular Season - Clarington Eagles

The Eagles were the recipients of the First Overall in the Orr Division award for the regular season.  Captain Dawson Manning accepted this award on the red carpet on behalf of our team. Although a great achievement, our work isn’t done yet!

Orr Division's Top Team Goals Against Average - Jude Rondina & Marc-Olivier Robert

Five goalies played for the Eagles during the regular season, combining for a 1.70 goals against average, a .935 save percentage, and ten combined shutouts.  Jude Rondina and Marc-Olivier Robert, as a duo, have even better overall numbers, with a 1.65 goals against average, a .936 save percentage, and eight of the ten shutouts.  Please congratulate the Orr Division’s Top Team Goals Against Average, goaltender #1 Jude Rondina and goaltender #30 Marc-Olivier Robert.

Orr Division’s Most Valuable Goalie Award - Jude Rondina

Sticking with goaltenders, Jude Rondina played for both teams that were facing off in the previous playoff series, starting the season with the Georgina Ice.  Jude played in twenty games for the Ice, working to a record of 9-6-1-0 with a 3.63 goals against average and a .904 save percentage.  The Eagles made, arguably, the greatest trade in the league at the trade deadline, acquiring Jude.  Since arriving, Jude has done nothing short of impressing and has upped his game even further. He played nine games for the Eagles down the stretch, winning all nine of those games (four of which were shutouts). He finished with a 1.10 goals against average and a .958 save percentage.  His 2022/23 season earned him the Orr Division’s Most Valuable Goalie Award.

Orr Division’s Top Scorer - Dawson Manning

Playing in his final season of eligibility in the PJHL, he led the Eastern Conference in scoring and finished fourth overall in the PJHL, with 21 goals, 54 assists for 75 points in 39 games played.  He has centered the top line all season long and led the PJHL in assists.  Please congratulate, the Orr Division’s Top Scorer, Eagles Captain, #12, Dawson Manning.

Orr Division MVP - Brady Darrach

Finally, a well-deserved award to a player with the best shot in the PJHL.  He played in 33 games during the regular season, contributing 28 goals and 33 assists for a total of 61 points and an average of 1.85 points per game. He played on the wing with Dawson Manning all season long and buried more chances than he missed, scoring a team leading eight game-winning goals.  Please congratulate the Orr Division MVP, #23, Brady Darrach.

Additional Orr Division Award Recipients

The Clarington Eagles would like to congratulate the other Orr Division award recipients this season. The Georgina Ice took home two awards: best coaching staff and rookie of the year for Ronnie Wiersma.  This is the second year in a row a Georgina player has taken home the rookie of the year honour. The Eagles would also like to congratulate Quinn Meek of the Uxbridge Bruins on his most sportsmanlike award, and Owen Shier of the Little Britain Merchants for winning the best defenceman award for his second season in a row.
