Series Tied at Two

Game #4: Eagles vs. Ice

It has been a series of “road warriors” with both teams winning away from home. The Eagles looked to change that trend tonight, coming off a decisive 6-3 victory in Game 3.

The Eagles got on the board early—just 57 seconds into the match—when Ben Stycuk converted a drop pass and fired it past Aidan Lindsay to make it 1-0. Despite the quick start, it was a methodical opening frame with both teams recording seven shots apiece.

Second Period

The scoring drought of the first period evaporated in the second. Georgina found their rhythm with three straight power-play goals in under 10 minutes, courtesy of Petreccia, Mckenzie, and Paulmert.

Christian Sokuljuk managed to claw one back for the Eagles, but Bryce McKee responded for Georgina just 1:03 later to extend the lead to 4-2. In the final minute of the period, Owen White capitalized on a power play to bring the Eagles within one, making it 4-3 heading into the final frame.

Third Period

The back-and-forth action continued immediately as Christopher Mischenko scored only 40 seconds in to make it 5-3. Shortly after, Owen White netted his second of the game to bring the Eagles back within a goal. However, Georgina answered yet again; Seth Kirou found the back of the net to make it 6-4, ending Nate Gillis’s night in goal.

An empty-netter eventually sealed a 7-4 victory for Georgina. The series now shifts back to Georgina this Friday night for Game 5.
