Eagles Season comes to a Close

Eagles vs. Uxbridge: Game 6

After a thrilling 3-2 victory in Game 5, the Eagles returned home in front of over 700 fans, looking to force a seventh and deciding game in Uxbridge.

1st Period

Uxbridge generated the majority of their chances from the slot, but Jairus Ford—much like in Game 5—was a wall for the Eagles. He even got some help from the crossbar on a shot by Trent Nobes. The Eagles were outshot 10-6 in an entertaining opening 20 minutes.

2nd Period

After both teams traded glorious scoring opportunities, the Bruins struck first. Kyle Butt tucked home a rebound after a great save on the initial shot to make it 1-0. Later in the frame, just after a penalty had expired, Tucker Roberts scored blocker-side to extend the lead to 2-0. The Eagles pressed hard to get on the board; their best chance came during a scramble in front of the net, but no one could lift the puck over the outstretched Robby DiMaria. It remained 2-0 heading into the third.

3rd Period

The Eagles continued to search for a goal, but their efforts just could not find the back of the net tonight. An empty-netter eventually iced the game, giving Uxbridge a 3-0 win and a 4-2 series victory. Despite the loss, the Eagles have a lot to hold their heads high about. After a fantastic seven-game series with Georgina, they pushed Uxbridge to the limit. However, there are new 2026 Orr Division Champions in the East after a dominant four-year run by the Eagles.

Congratulations to Dan West, his coaching staff, and the players on a well-played series.

To the Eagles fans: Thank you for coming out all season long. The players love your support and energy, and we look forward to seeing you again in September. Until then, have a safe and enjoyable summer.

Come fly with your Clarington Eagles!
