Eagles fall in second half of home and home

Game Recap: Eagles vs. Bruins

The Clarington Eagles and Uxbridge Bruins played their second game in as many days with an afternoon matchup at the Garnet B. Rickard Complex.

1st Period

After a boarding penalty was assessed to Uxbridge’s Tyson Lotton at 7:54, it took only 31 seconds for the Eagles to strike. Defenseman Sutton Edwards beat Bruins netminder Kevin Halloran to put Clarington on the board. That power-play marker held up as the only goal of the frame.

2nd Period

The Bruins tied the game six minutes into the second period on a rebound goal by Cameron Meek. Just 1:08 later, the Kemp brothers teamed up to take the lead for the Bruins, with Jack Kemp scoring off an assist from Luke Kemp.

At 13:02, the Bruins added some insurance with a goal by Ryan Shier. However, it didn’t take long for the Eagles to cut the deficit to one on the power play. Marcus Mori found the back of the net, leaving us with a 3–2 game heading into the final period.

3rd Period

The Eagles fought hard but were unable to find the elusive tying goal. The Bruins held on to take the two points, evening up the weekend series.
